Testimonials
 Hi

“Hi, Just thought I would let you know how pleased I am with the service that you have provided. Very fast, efficient and excellent value for money - I would recommend you to anyone. Many thanks”

 Thomas C - Birmingham AL

I am really enjoying my Elite Caddy! ...since I started to use it even my golf scores have been better. Probably due to the fact that I was able to walk off my anger from bad shots, ha ha. I actually did shoot a 78 two weeks ago so I am very pleased and have been feeling great!

WHY A MOTORIZED CART?

Question: Why motorized golf carts?
Answer: We have all seen the golf tournaments on television with each golfers caddies carrying their clubs for them. By owning a motorized cart we are able to walk the course and enjoy the benefits of walking as your clubs are sent on ahead.  Enjoy this relaxing time on the fairways as you use your remote control to as your clubs are sent on ahead to your next shot.

Question: Remote Control or Non Remote Motorized Carts?
Answer. With motorized walking carts there are two different versions.  Remote Control carts allow the golfer the ability to send your cart up to your ball or next tee box.  Non Remote carts are very convenient as well and the main difference is these carts have to be steered by the golfer.

Question: How Fast are your golf carts ?
Answer. Our carts generally can go from 1.5mph to 6mph in manual modes.  In remote modes they can go 1.5mph to 4mph.  Please always use caution when using in remote mode to avoid any accidents.

WHY ARE PRICES SO LOW?

Question:  Pricing usually averages between $800 to $2000 for remote control carts.  Why are Elite Caddy products priced so low?
Answer:  Elite Caddy is dedicated to providing the highest quality of products at the most competitive pricing in the world.  We are able to do this by exclusively selling on the internet and therfore, avoiding the overhead associated with "Brick and Mortar" stores.  We have eliminated all of the excessive expenses associated with storefront businesses and we are the exclusive brand owner so you pay no additional markups.

Question: What competitors can you be compared to?
These are some of our competitors: Kangaroo ($2000), Club Runner ($700), PowaKaddy ($1499), Lectronic Kaddy ($1200), Hill Billy ($1200), Motorized Golf - MGI ($1400)

HUB MOTORS TECHNOLOGY

Question: What are hub motors?
Answer:  The motors are built inside the wheel and in fact the wheel are the motors.

Question: Are they better than conventional motors?
Answer: In this application yes, they are both more efficient and more reliable.

Question: Are Hub Motors better on steep uphill and down hills?
Answer: Here's a quote from a competitors FAQ: "On steep uphill slopes we recommend that you use manual operation. However, you may like to try either zigzagging up the hill or directing the cart to a lesser gradient."

Elite Caddy carts have enough power to drive straight up the steepest slope that you'll find on a golf course.

And going downhill this competitor states: "On steep slopes downhill ensure that you keep full control of the cart. In the most difficult of conditions it is best to hold the handle and walk it down in manual mode."

Elite Caddy carts will maintain it's set speed and will brake the cart going downhill.

Question: Why are they more reliable?
Answer: Because there are no moving parts to go wrong, no electric motor brushes to wear out, no clutch to slip over time, and no transmission to fail.

Question: Why is hub motor reliability guaranteed?
Answer: Because the hub motor factory has the highest level of quality control. And, with no moving parts there is nothing to wear out.

Question: Why don't other electric cart manufacturers use hub motors?
Answer: Because they are more expensive than conventional motors.

Question: How can Elite Caddy afford to use hub motors and still be competitive?
Answer: Because our factory makes our hub motors and we do not have to buy from outside manufacturers.

Question: You say the hub motor has no gearbox, how do you control the cart?
Answer: It is controlled electronically via the ECU [electronic control unit].

Question: Is there a mechanical brake to hold it on hills?
Answer: Not a mechanical brake but an electronic brake. With the power on and the cart stopped the hub motor magnets provide a braking function.

Question: What are the benefits of this?
Answer: There are no mechanical parts to wear out.

Question: What are the disadvantages of hub motors?
Answer: We have not found any, please let us know !

Question: What if the battery runs down?
Answer: Simply turn off the power button and the wheels will turn freely just as any push/pull cart.

Question: Will the cart maintain a straight path down the fairway?
Answer: With any rigid framed vehicle there will be more pressure and hence more rolling friction on one drive wheel. This will cause a slight turning of the vehicle usually towards the uphill side. It becomes very natural and intuitive to use the remote control with very little thought or effort.

Question: When using the remote control, how does the cart steer?
Answer: Our carts steer by speeding up the wheel opposite to way you want to turn. If you want to turn left then the right motor will speed up.

Hub Motors are sensitive to the weight of your golf bag. The more weight, the more traction for the motors. To get a true sense of how your cart will perform please test it with your golf bag attached. The weight and traction on the hub motors effect the steering. The less weight and traction then the wider turning circle (especially on streets or sidewalks).

Question: How quiet are your Elite Caddy carts?
Answer: You will not find a quieter cart on the market. The only moving mechanical parts are the hub motor and front wheel bearings and they are totally sealed and utterly silent.

CART FRAMES

Question: Is the frame strong enough to avoid bending over time?
Answer: Our frames our high strength reinforced (extra channeling inside) aluminum tubing with high quality technical welds. The frames are practically impossible to bend or brake.

Question: How easy is it to fold and unfold the carts?
Answer: Our carts fold up very easily and the wheels come off simply with thumb screws. It makes a very small package. Also there is no assembly required, just charge up the battery and go!

REMOTE CONTROL

We've found the best operation of your Elite Caddy Carts is using the remote most of the time. But when crossing bridges, areas near water, or very uneven or rocky terrain, use our manual mode to ensure greater control of your cart. Just as on the golf course when you play smart and use course management, using course management with your cart will save you time, energy and strokes.

Question: How much does the remote control weigh?
Answer: With it's battery it weighs 2 oz (a golf ball weighs about 1.5oz)

Question: Where to keep the remote while hitting a ball?
Answer: With it's small size (4.3x2.3x0.6 inches) and weight it's the smallest remote control available for motorized carts. We don't suggest keeping it in your pants pocket. The buttons can get pressed accidentally. We suggest our remote control belt clip accessory.

Question: Can the antenna break?
Answer: The antenna requires some care to avoid bending and/or breaking. Never push the antenna in by pushing it against your body or an object. Simply use your hand to extend and retract the antenna. If the antenna breaks then a new remote control will be required.

Question: What are the functions on the remote control ?
Answer: Forward - Backward - Stop - Left - Right - Speed Up - Slow Down

Question: Describe typical operations of the REMOTE control?

Forward or Reverse: From a stopped position, simply press the forward or reverse button once to get the cart moving. With our new Elite Caddy Cruise Control the cart will start at it's preset speed (it's speed before pressing the last stop button.). While moving forward, one press of the forward button will get the cart up to it's maximum speed.

Left or Right: From a stopped position, press and HOLD DOWN either the left or right buttons until the desired direction is reached. Then release the button and the cart will continue at it's preset cruise control speed. If the cart is already moving simply press and HOLD DOWN the left or right buttons to steer the cart.

Accelerate (+) or Slow Down (-): Press and HOLD DOWN either button to speed up or slow down.

Stop Button: At any time, simply press once on the stop button to bring the cart to a full and complete stop. As a safety feature, when in stop, one press of the Slow Down (-) button will take the preset cruise control speed down to it's minimum. This is to avoid fast starts in crowded areas.

Question: Will the cart run away and never be seen again ?
Answer: In remote control mode, no... the cart has a 30 second timer. If no remote control buttons have been pressed for 30 seconds the cart will stop. At the cart's full speed, 30 seconds is about 75 yards. At the slowest speed it's about 30 yards.

In manual mode, yes... the cart can run away and never be seen again. Please keep the cart under your control at all times !

Question: Could there be interference from other remote controls or radio devices?
Answer: If two Elite Caddy carts are directly next to each other then there might be a very temporary lag in remote control response time. This is normal.

Question: What is the range of the remote control?
Answer: With a fresh battery the range is up to 100 yards. We recommend keeping the cart within 50-60 yards. The remote control battery should be changed after approximately twenty rounds of golf. We suggest carrying a spare battery.

Question: What battery does the remote control use ?
Answer: We recommend immediately replacing the original battery with a new fresh one. Size A23 12v 33 mAh Alkaline battery. Alternate part numbers: MN21 / E23A / K23A / V23GA / GP23A / 23A / 23GA / A23 / GP-23A / L1028 / LR23A / MS21 / V23 / VR23. These are sold by all major battery vendors (Eveready, Duracell, etc). We also carry this battery on our website.

MAIN BATTERY

Question: How do I carry the battery?
Answer: Please use the carrying handle. Never ever lift up the battery by it's cord. This will pull out the terminal connectors.

Question: My cart will not start?
Answer: (1) Check to make sure that all on/off buttons are turned on. (2) Check the battery... unzip the battery pack and check the fuse and make sure that all four wires are connected. The short black wire connects to the ourside Red terminal. The longer black wire connects to the outside Black terminal. The Red wire with Fuse Block connects to the two inner Red and Black terminals.

Question: The Red Light will not come on when charging ?
Answer: Unzip the battery cover (both sides) and tug gently on each wire to make sure that the wires are secure to their connector. Then make sure that the wires are plugged in tightly. Unplug the battery and wait a few minutes and then plug back in. If you've had the battery for more than a year then the battery could be failing. Does it work on the cart and seem to be fully charged? If so, then the charger could be failing.

Question: What type of battery is used on the cart?
Answer: There are two sealed lead acid rechargeable, highly efficient, leak proof and high cycling life batteries.

Question: How do I plug in the battery to the cart?
Answer: Unlike some carts with huge ugly "alligator clips" our batteries have a simple connector that plugs into the cart frame.

Question: How many holes of golf should I be able to play?
Answer: The number of holes would be on average 27 holes. This is dependent upon how hilly is the course, how heavy is your golf bag, and how old is the battery. As the battery ages you will get fewer holes (see next question). Never hold onto the cart and let it pull you up the hill. This puts a heavy strain on the hub motors and on the battery.

Question: What is the life expectancy of the battery ?
Answer: Sealed lead acid batteries are subject to extreme conditions on and off a golf course. Many variables contribute to the life of a set of batteries. Conditions such as: hot temperatures (on the course and in the trunk of a car), neglect - not charging immediately after use, improper charging - not letting it complete a full charge, etc.
We are seeing customers get anywhere from eight months to a year and a half before noticing that their cart won't go a full 18 holes.

Question: What is proper care and usage?
Answer: Always remember to recharge the battery as soon as possible after a round of golf. After the charger's green light comes on unplug the charger from the battery. It's fine to leave it plugged in overnight. If the red light does not go out after an overnight charge then unplug immediately. Take care not to drop or mishandle the battery. There is no problem turning the battery on it's side or even upside down. Leaving the battery in a hot automobile trunk will degrade and discharge the battery.

Question: Where do I go if I need a new battery?
Answer: You can order online (see Spare Parts) on our website.

Question: What does the battery warranty cover ?
Answer: The warranty is one year for both the battery and the charger. This covers any manufacturing defects like loose or broken terminals. Any misuse: dropping the battery, failing to charge properly, storing in a hot environment will all void the battery warranty. Due to the many variables that determine the life of a battery our warranty does not specify life expectancy.

Question: Is there a fuse for the battery?
Answer: Yes, inside the battery's fabric case is an automotive type fuse. The battery has a full size spade type fuse. Please carry a spare.

TIPS

Question: I have the remote in my pocket and the buttons get pressed by accident!
Answer: This especially happens with a ball in your pocket and it presses on the remote control buttons.

I suggest considering our remote control belt clip now found under accessories. This would keep it out of pockets and avoid any mistakes.

Question: My cart won't go!
Answer: First check the on/ off switches. These are easily switched off by mistake. If you're using it in remote control mode and it stalls then simply press the forward button a second time. Wait a few seconds for it to start. If that fails then try it in manual mode and if it still won't start then the battery may need charging.

Question: My Remote Control isn't working!
Answer: You will notice that some buttons may work and that you might start the cart but can't stop it or the cart's just not responding to the remote. The very first thing is to check is the remote's battery. In some rare cases the remote control may have to be re-synced to the cart. Please call our service department and they will explain the procedure.

Question: I tipped over my cart, what now?
Answer: The very first thing is to unplug the battery. If the cart has actually fallen from a height then be very careful that the battery is not damaged and possibly leaking. Do not attempt to pickup a leaking battery! If the cart has simply tipped over then unplug the battery and remove it from the cart. Then pick up the cart. Unzip the battery bag (each side) and check the battery wiring. Put the battery back onto the cart's frame and plug it in and test.

In a rare case the cart may tip over sideways on a concrete cart path and could fall on the handle. This may cause damage to one of the handles's on/off switches and this will have to be replaced. Be careful to not run into curbs or large objects that could cause the cart to tip over sideways.

Question: How do I clean my cart?
Answer: A damp rag or compressed air hose is best. Never (NEVER!!) use a hose with running water to clean your cart. If it gets rained on then just wipe off the excess water. The handle and the area around the hub motor yoke (where the motors attach) are the most sensitive to excess water. The hub motors are sealed against normal golf course moisture and are maintenance free.

Question: What adjustments can I make on the Superbug for alignment (what are those springs over the motors)?
Answer: The springs return the wheels to a straight position after either manually turning the cart or using the remote control. You do not have to adjust the spring tension. The rod that goes through the springs adjust the wheels for straight line travel. If you notice that your cart is always veering off the to the right or left you can turn this inner rod and this will align the wheels.

When standing behind the cart and you turn the rod towards you, this will make the cart go more to the left. Away from you to make it turn more to the right. This can be turned by hand by holding the locked nuts on the end of the springs.
